The Hyundai Kona has been very successful since its launch in 2017. The Korean SUV got so popular Hyundai decided to expand its line-up with an electric version and a performance N version later. It is time for the Korean SUV to meet its subsequent evolution in the form of an all-new generation. There are many new things, but everything we liked about the first generation made its way into the new Kona.
Let me tell you the all-new Hyundai Kona made quite a first impression. The Korean manufacturer designers are very talented, so they were able to give the brand-new Kona a futuristic appearance while integrating retro elements into its design. The vehicle's front and rear are unique, and I love that the lighting is just a wide and narrow LED stripe instead of distinguishing headlights. If you didn't notice, headlights are integrated into the fender flare, which makes sense. Like that, it doesn't break the purity of the Kona's front fascia. The side of the new Kona reminds me of the Hyundai Tucson in some ways, which isn't bad.
The all-new Kona is 150 mm longer than the previous generation and 25 mm wider, which makes things even more enjoyable.
The all-new Hyundai Kona cockpit looks more like a simulator installed over a generic dashboard. I was impressed the first time I saw a flat TV, but everybody has one now, at least. I feel the same about this new trend in the automotive industry. Luckily, the Korean manufacturer went a little further in terms of design for the rest of the cabin, so its SUV doesn't like a recycle bin with a wheel and a tablet-like most of its competitors. Overall, Hyundai designers did an outstanding job for the interior, which I'm impatient to discover in person.
What About the Kona N
Unfortunately, something has yet to be mentioned about the top-performance version of the current Kona in the press releases for the all-new Kona. For now, the N-Line version will be the ultimate performance alteration of the new Kona. However, the Korean manufacturer can always introduce a Kona N later.
Hyundai hasn't revealed many details about the new Kona mechanical options other than the fact that there will be at least four options. We don't have access to pricing or the production date yet, but the all-new Kona should hit the market somewhere between now and the following summer.
